Westfield High School Shooting: 15-Year-Old Student Killed Near Harris County, Texas Campus

A 15-year-old student was killed in a shooting near Westfield High School in Harris County, Texas, on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 22, 2026.

The shooting happened near 16713 Ella Boulevard, close to the Spring ISD campus. Authorities responded to reports of a person being shot, and the victim was transported to a hospital, where the 15-year-old student was later reported to have died.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect reportedly fled the area on foot following the shooting. Deputies and Spring ISD police established a perimeter and launched a search for the suspect.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said authorities initially treated the location as an active scene and asked people to avoid the area. A later update indicated that there was no active attack occurring, while officers continued searching for the suspect.
